GIBSON CUSTOM SHOP '59 LES PAUL STANDARD REISSUE MADE 2 MEASURE PG94 BURST

We got to take a trip to the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville to pick out some guitars and to select wood for future Made 2 Measure builds!  This is one of the guitars we spec'd out with wood we selected.  

It starts out with the timeless 1959 Les Paul Reissue.  We opted for super lightweight mahogany. The guitar is an incredible 7.98 pounds.  Historic spec Les Pauls under 8 pounds are extremely rare.  

We spent hours sorting through maple tops to find this one.  Floaty, and patchy with tremendous 'movement' as you turn the guitar in the light.  We scoured the famous Beauty of the Burst book until we settled on page 94 for our colour inspiration.  

The guitar features Alnico 3 Custombuckers in both positions.  Another little touch we like is Zebra coil pickups.  These are Zebra under the nickel covers so you can choose to leave the covers on or expose one or both for that 'modded' look players like Jimmy Page loved so much. 

We couldn't be happier with this M2M beauty!
