GIBSON CUSTOM SHOP 60TH ANNIVERSARY 1959 LES PAUL STANDARD REISSUE MADE 2 MEASURE FACTORY BURST VOS

Our annual(-ish) trip to the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville was our best yet!  It's always an honour and pleasure to pick out some guitars and to select wood for future Made 2 Measure builds!  We found some incredible tops and are thrilled with how they came out!

It starts out with the timeless 60th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Reissue.  We opted for lightweight mahogany. The guitar is at 8.11 pounds.  

We spent hours sorting through maple tops to find this one.  Floaty, and patchy with tremendous 'movement' as you turn the guitar in the light.  This is in Factory Burst, a colour designed to showcase how red the guitars actually were in 1959 before the Analine dye faded in the sunlight. 

The guitar features Alnico 3 Custombuckers in both positions.  Another little touch we like is Zebra coil pickups.  These are Zebra under the nickel covers so you can choose to leave the covers on or expose one or both for that 'modded' look players like Jimmy Page loved so much. 

We couldn't be happier with this M2M beauty!
