This Suhr traces back to an earlier era of the company's lineup, born from a simple idea: take some of John Suhr's preferred spec combinations, lock them into a consistent build, and make a genuine American-made Suhr more attainable.

This particular example stands out. Basswood forms the body, capped with a 3/16" Flame Maple top and dressed in a striking 3-Tone Burst finish, complete with scraped natural binding and a Black back for contrast. It's a tried-and-true Suhr formula, blending inherent warmth and punch with the added snap and definition a maple cap provides.

The Maple neck is fitted with an Indian Rosewood board, shaped to Suhr's slim and easy-playing Even C Slim contour, finished with a 10"–14" compound radius and 22 Heavy-gauge frets. Rounding things out, a Gotoh 510 tremolo and Hipshot locking tuners give it that unshakeable tuning stability and precision Suhr guitars are built around.

Tonally, an HSS configuration pairs ML Standard single-coils with an SSH+ humbucker at the bridge, opening up everything from bright, chiming clean tones to full-on high-gain drive — the kind of range that's defined this lineup since it emerged.

A genuine Suhr, carrying the build quality, attention to detail, and feel that helped the brand earn its place among the top names in boutique guitar building.
