We love guitars with stories here. This started life as a 1941 New York built Epiphone De Luxe. Epiphone at the time was Gibson's main competition in the archtop market. All original examples sell for upwards of $5000USD. This one has had a little bit of work done. For starters, this was not a cutaway model. One of the original owners added the cutaway. It was a structurally sound job, if a little rough to look at up close as seen in the included images. Additionally the fretboard was replaced. It appears to have been replaced with a modern epiphone fretboard and inlay pattern. The machine heads and bridge are also replacements. This adds up to a player grade guitar. And it excels at that. It is an addictive player. It plays and sounds fantastic. Loud, resonant and sets up perfectly. Instrument includes non original hardshell case.
