VINTAGE PRS CUSTOM 24 1990 - BLACK CHERRY WITH SWEET SWITCH AND ORIGINAL CASE

Regular price $7,499.00

At a time when most guitar companies were simply copying or slightly modifying the tested platforms of Fender and Gibson (which Paul Reed Smith did himself in his "pre-factory" days), the PRS Custom 24 -- simply called "PRS Custom" in the first catalog -- made use of a new, fresh shape, unique 25" scale with 24 frets, and premium woods for stunning flametops. The first factory-made PRS Custom 24s shown here used Brazilian Rosewood fretboards.

This is a stunning pre Stevensville Custom 24 in Black Cherry and all the hallmark PRS features that made them revolutionary when they were released.   This also includes the rare Sweet Switch.  This was a mini-toggle control featured on mid-1980s to 1991 PRS models. It used a delay line component to simulate the high-frequency attenuation and phase shift of a 100-foot guitar cable, giving players a warmer, "sweeter" tone without a traditional tone pot.

Includes original hardshell case.Â
